THE PRODUCT
RABA's first collection includes kente cloth from Ghana, mud cloth (bologan) from Burkina Faso and kuba cloth from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Woven by expert crafts people, each piece of fabric takes weeks to make as the artisans follow the traditional techniques used centuries ago.

The Beginning
RABA means sneaker in Swahili and is a homage to memories formed during two trips to Tanzania in 1986 and 1989. Since then, Tyi McCray has traveled, worked and attended school throughout Africa.

In 2022, after a corporate career, Tyi decided to make this passion project a reality and launched RABA. The brand invites us into a celebratory conversation about the beauty of Africa and self expression.
